"Wi-Fi was better than I thought it would be"
I was expecting the Wi-Fi to be spotty, but it worked better than I thought, even in the cabin most days. It did slow down when things got busy, and I had it drop once or twice, but for sending messages and checking things online, it was totally fine. "Decent cruise, but the onboard bill was a little confusing"
Overall, the cruise was fine and we had a good time. The only downside was that the onboard charges weren’t always clear until later, which made the final bill a bit confusing. I ended up having to ask the front desk twice to understand everything on the account. Not a huge issue, but it would’ve been much better if the charges were explained more clearly along the way.

"Loyalty perks ended up being more hassle than help"
I thought the loyalty perks would make the trip feel a little easier, but they mostly just added stress I wasn’t expecting. The discounts were so small they barely mattered, and when I asked about what benefits I had, the staff seemed confused too. I spent more time trying to figure it all out than actually enjoying any of it.

The ports sounded great when I booked, but the timing was kind of odd once we got there. Most of the shore excursions felt rushed, and for what we paid, I was expecting a better experience. The website was also frustrating because making changes was not easy

"Cabin was disappointing, even though I wanted to like it"
I booked through hollandamerica.com the process was easy enough, so I was expecting the cabin to feel a little more polished. Weirdly, it didn’t seem completely awful at first glance, but the longer I was in there, the more uncomfortable it felt. The bed seemed old and saggy, the pillows were flat, and the room got so stuffy at night that I barely slept.
The cleanliness was probably the biggest letdown. I found hair in the bathroom, the corners were dusty, and the carpet looked like it needed a serious deep clean ages ago. I can be forgiving about older rooms, and part of me kept thinking maybe I was being too picky, but for the price, it really didn’t feel acceptable. I wouldn’t book that cabin again.

I tried booking a cruise on hollandamerica.com, the site was just sort of annoying to use. It kept loading really slow and a few of my selections seemed to disappear here and there. Then when I got to checkout, the prices looked like they had changed a bit, which was confusing. I did eventually get everything booked, but it was more frustrating than I expected.

"My refund took longer than I wanted, but it got handled"
I had to cancel my trip, which was already frustrating, and I was hoping the refund would come through faster. It took a bit longer than I liked, but support did explain what was going on and eventually got it sorted out for me

"Honestly, the spa wasn’t really worth it"
I booked a massage through hollandamerica.com before the cruise, thinking it would be this super relaxing little treat, but honestly? It was just okay. The staff was nice, so I’ll give them that, but the whole spa experience felt kind of rushed, which is exactly the opposite of what you want when you’re paying extra to relax. And then my appointment time got changed, which was annoying because, come on, I planned around that. For what it cost, I expected it to feel a lot more calm and special. It wasn’t awful or anything, but I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to book it again

"The onboard doctor literally saved the day"
I ended up getting sick about halfway through our cruise, and the medical team got me in really quickly. Everyone was calm, kind, and explained the medication in a way that was easy to understand. They were also upfront about the cost, which I really appreciated. It literally made a stressful day so much easier.

"Easy, Fun Cruise With Plenty to Do"
We had a really nice time on our Holland America cruise. I’m the type who starts noticing patterns quickly on trips, and by day two I realized there was always a good rhythm to the schedule: a show here, trivia there, a cooking demo or little talk in between, and dancing later on. The music shows were better than I expected, and even on sea days we never felt like we were just wandering around trying to fill time. Everything was easy to join without feeling packed or overwhelming. We never got bored, and I’d be happy to book with them again.

I thought this cruise was definitely worth it overall. The price felt fair for what you get, which matters to me because I always try to compare the cost with the actual experience instead of just going off the description. "Dress code was easy, not too fancy"
Booked through Holland America and was a little worried about the dress code at first. Thought gala night might be super formal, but once onboard, felt way more relaxed than expected. Wore a simple dress, and my husband just did slacks with a button-up shirt. No issue at all.

Liked that people still put in some effort, but it didn’t feel like you had to dress for a wedding every night. Smart casual worked fine most evenings. Made packing easier, and never felt out of place.

"Gym was a letdown"
I sailed with Holland America and thought the fitness center would be a bit better. It wasn’t terrible, but it felt cramped, dated, and just not very inviting. The same few machines seemed to be taken whenever I went, and there was a treadmill out of order too.

To be fair, it was clean enough, so that wasn’t the issue. It just didn’t have much space, didn’t have many options, and for what the trip cost, I expected more. I was hoping for a decent gym, but it ended up being disappointing.

The cruise itself was fine, but the Navigator app made me question the quality a bit. It kept logging me out, and parts of the daily schedule wouldn’t load unless I completely closed the app and reopened it. Chat messages also showed up late, which made it tough to coordinate with family onboard. Since Holland America pushes you to use the app for so much, I expected it to be more reliable. It got annoying fast

"Relaxed ship with an older crowd"
The ship had a really quiet, laid-back vibe. Most of the guests seemed to be older, so it wasn’t exactly a high-energy scene, but i still had a nice time.
